REACH - Research for Equitable Access and continuity of Care for patients with HIV from remote communities.
AREA OF INTERVENTION
Inhambane Province - Districts of Morrumbene, Massinga, Funhalouro, and Panda.
OBJECTIVE
Contribute to the fight against HIV in remote communities in Mozambique by implementing innovative identification and linkage to care systems for HIV patients from remote communities in Inhambane Province.
MMI ACTIVITIES
- Implementation of a research activity on HIV diagnostic pathways in paediatric patients at risk of vertical transmission in rural areas.
- Implementation of a research activity for monitoring the effectiveness of treatment in HIV+ patients followed by mobile clinics
- Implementation and evaluation of innovative mobile health strategy to increase treatment adherence among HIV-infected patients
- Creation and implementation of an electronic system for the systematic collection of clinical data on patients with HIV infection in the Brigadas Móveis and TARV Móveis
- Introduction of electronic geolocation systems and implementation of a qualitative survey, involving the collection of demographic (age, gender, household composition) and epidemiological data from the beneficiary communities. The aim is to analyse the social determinants and main challenges in accessing health services for the definition of targeted health strategies.
